I’m a musician, songwriter, guitarist, storyteller, occasional troublemaker, and professional believer in the power of a good song.

I write and perform original music rooted in my own experiences—the beautiful bits, the messy bits, and everything in between.  For me, music is a way to make sense of being human, and hopefully give other people a reason to laugh, feel something, or find a connection.

My performance life has taken me well beyond standing on a stage with a guitar. I've performed drag and burlesque, produced grand stage shows, and spent plenty of time behind a microphone as an MC. I love the theatrical, the ridiculousness, the vulnerability, and the sheer joy of stepping onto a stage and seeing what happens next.

Storytelling is at the heart of everything I do. I want my performances to feel less like an assembly and more like we’re all hanging out together—except there’s better lighting and someone has hopefully remembered to pay the sound person.  I perform because I believe stories matter. Being a little vulnerable in front of other people is what matters.

On the best occasions, I get to collaborate with my favorite musician and husband, Todd Franks.  As a multi-talented instrumentalist, songwriter, studio producer, and percussionist, he brings three decades of musical experience.

He can be spotted performing on a handcrafted cajón (built by me), adding a uniquely warm, intimate sound to an acoustic set or carrying the heartbeat via a variety of drums and percussion.

So that’s what I bring to the stage, whether as a solo artist, as part of an ensemble, or otherwise: music, stories, a questionable amount of confidence, a healthy dose of irreverence, and hopefully a few moments that stick with you long after the lights go down.
